Franz Brandenberger

A little about Franz

Based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Franz Brandenberger brings more than 28 years of experience in international trade, investment promotion and government relations. From 1998 to 2026, he represented the Government of Canada in Brazil as a Trade Commissioner, supporting Canadian companies with market entry and expansion, advising TSX-listed companies, and building relationships with federal ministries, regulators and state governments. His work included foreign direct investment, trade missions, market intelligence and strategic partnerships across mining, infrastructure, education and natural resources. Earlier roles in corporate banking, product and operations management, internal audit and international trade give him a strong commercial foundation. Franz holds a master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of Geneva, a postgraduate specialization in Business Management, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Foreign Trade. He speaks Portuguese, English and French fluently, and Spanish at working proficiency.
